Affordable accommodations are located within a 30-minute drive from the GMR Aerospace & Industrial Park. Low-cost housing is also available in Shamshabad town and on Srisailam Highway, which is a 10-minute drive from the Park.

Emergency Services

Fire: In case of an emergency, all units within the Aerospace & Industrial Park can call in the services of the highly trained Airport Rescue and Fire-fighting (ARFF) team as preliminary support till the time the fire-fighting team from the closest fire station arrives.
Emergency Treatment Centre: Apollo Hospitals run a 17-bed emergency treatment centre at the Airport. A standby ambulance fitted with advanced life-saving equipment is also available at the Park for emergencies.

Security

By virtue of the Park being housed within the International Airport, it benefits from enhanced security. The Airport premise is surrounded by a secure boundary with limited access. These accesses are manned by the RAXA security team (security cell of GMR). The Airport premise is also secured by layers of security by CISF, BCAS, and Telangana state police making the area very secure, unaffected by disturbances and unrest.

Bonded Warehousing

The SEZ zone includes a land area of approx. 20 acres earmarked as a Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) to complement supply chain distribution, warehousing, storage, value addition, and packaging. This is the only airport-based FTWZ in India, which brings down transportation costs and reduces the turnaround time for the movement of man and material. Units within the FTWZ are allowed to export, import, and re-export products without the burden of taxes, duties, and levies as per the regulations that a business would otherwise pay in any other Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) land. The FTWZ allows businesses to locate stock in close proximity to their Indian customers, reducing buffer stocks and improving turnaround time. This increases forward and reverse service supply-chain efficiencies. FTWZ units are also permitted to trade goods, assemble completely knocked-down (CKD) and semi-knocked-down (SKD) kits, package or repackage re-sell, re-invoice, or re-export imported goods.

• Value-added activities like labelling, assembly of CKD and SKD kits, packaging or repackaging, re-selling, re-invoice or re-exporting of imported goods, setting up of office in the premises, etc. are permitted with little to no interference from customs personnel.

Runway Access

GMR Aerospace & Industrial Park is located to the east and along the airside of GMR Hyderabad International Airport. The runway is Code F compatible which can support the landing of aircraft as big as the Airbus380 and is equipped with a category 1 Instrument Landing System at both ends.

Infrastructure

GMR Aerospace & Industrial Park offers an array of Infrastructural services.

Plot

• The plots at the Park have been levelled and made ready for any further construction to be done on it. The land is also facilitated with water, sewage and power connections to ease development.

Power

• Power is drawn from TSTRANSCO 220 KV sub-station and is supplied to the Park at 33 KV. The feeder is classified as an essential service and is highly reliable. This is also supported by redundancy.

Sewage and Drainage

• The Park has a well-planned sewage and drainage system. Rain and stormwater harvesting is being implemented to maintain the natural balance of the groundwater and improve the quality of the existing groundwater through dilution. Connections will be made available at the plot boundary.

Water

• Domestic water provisions are supplied by Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. A pipeline will be drawn up to the plot. Water treatment plants are also planned next to underground reservoirs/sumps along with rainwater harvesting, stormwater collection and disposal to the pond.

Roads

• Scientifically planned and internationally recognized road networks are located in and around the Park. Internal roads have been planned considering the traffic circulation and truck segregation with adequate turning radius. Pedestrian walkways are also constructed in people-intensive zones.
